If you need a mobile solution for a standing desk, this is a great option. Up until now, I haven’t seen anything else like it.
The 4 Shades of Versatility:
1. It’s very versatile for people who prefer switching up their working locations, or you want to take your desk outside for the afternoon, or you need to store your desk in a closet when not in use. This mobile stand up desk has lots of advantages.
2. Not only that – but you can sit at this desk as well. The height adjusts from about 29″ high (standard desk height) to 43″ high. Not sure you want to stand all the tim? No problem!
3. The monitor mount is also adjustable, so you can customize your screen to the optimal ergonomic level for you. Plus, the mount swivels and tilts. Talk about customizable!
4. Choose between dark walnut or black as your desktop colors. The frame is silver in either color option.
What about the size?
The desktop measures approximately 28″ deep x 40″ wide, so you get a good amount of space to work on, especially with the monitor up off the desk. It’s also not so gigantic that it will take up an entire room.
What surprised me
…about this workstation is the cost. It’s cheaper than any adjustable height desk that I have seen. You can do so much with it as a sit-stand desk (not to mention that it is mobile as well), yet right now you can get it for under $250.
This is the perfect solution for people who don’t want to spend $1,000 on a desk, yet they don’t want to spend the time to build a cheap standing desk.
A potential drawback:
This model will not work with a treadmill because of the cross-railing at the base.
That said, standing at a desk all day (or part of the say) definitely burns more calories that sitting still. Standing also can help relieve lower back pain caused from excessive sitting (and hunching over one’s desk).
One thing that I have noticed is that whether I am standing or walking at my own treadmill desk, I am more apt to walk around the office or move around if I need to take a phone call, run errands or do other tasks away from my desk.
By the way…
The 3″ casters on the base of the desk can lock in place, so you don’t have to worry about your work “getting away from you”. 😉
