Do you want an all-in-one treadmill desk that doesn’t take up a lot of space? The SpaceWalker Compact Folding Treadmill features a compact, space-saving desk. Plus, the unit folds up flat! See what I mean below:
Advantages of the SpaceWalker Treadmill Desk…
Because this small treadmill desk has a more compact size, you have more versatility as far as where you can use it. For example, you work on it in your bedroom, the kitchen, spare room etc..
Note: In addition, the smaller size makes this unit much easier to move around. It also comes with built-in wheels, so you can tilt up the machine and effortlessly roll it to your desired location.
With this ease-of-use, you can work in different locations throughout the week. For instance, you can roll your desk out onto the patio during the day and bring it indoors at night.
Or, you can use it in your home office at times where you need to concentrate. Then, roll it out in the living room at night to spend time watching TV with family while burning calories.
A smaller machine doesn’t always mean that it comes with less capabilities or fewer options.
Quite the contrary here. In this case, you may be able to use your treadmill desk more frequently and with less effort.
You also get high tech, user-friendly features that the larger machines have. For example, the desktop contains a console that displays your speed, time, distance and pulse.
And finally, the SpaceWalker compact folding treadmill comes fully assembled. That features definitely carries some weight in my book. I mean, when you receive your treadmill desk, you just want to start using it, right?
All that said, the Spacewalker folding treadmill is not ideal for everyone. As you have probably noticed, the unit comes with a small desktop. In fact, it only measures 20″ wide by 10.5″ deep.
Disadvantages of a Compact Folding Treadmill…
Although this size can comfortably fit a laptop or tablet, the narrow depth will not accommodate a desktop computer. Nor will it fit multiple computers or give you extra workspace.
I personally like my 4-foot by 2-foot desktop surface because it can hold my computer, a notepad and my cup of coffee. All without making my workspace feel cramped.
However, you could easily remedy a small desk situation by using a windowsill to keep your drinks. You could also keep other objects like a phone or work documents on a nearby side table.
Note: By the way, the SpaceWalker does come with a handy built-in cup/accessory holder. Therefore, you can keep small items easily accessible without worrying about them continually falling off the desk.
In addition, you cannot adjust the desktop height. The desk height actually works well for most average size people. However, you still cannot customize the level to fit you exactly.
If you want a folding treadmill desk that you can raise and lower to match your specific height, you may want to check out the NordicTrack Sit-Stand Desk. You can even lower it to regular desk height and pull up a chair if you get tired of walking.
This device does cost a few hundred dollars more. However, the customizable sizing feature can be worth it. Not to mention, it provides a larger desktop surface, has a treadmill speed that goes up to 6 mph and can give you up to a 10% incline.
Therefore, if you want to use your treadmill for running occasionally, the NordicTrack can provide some other capabilities that you can’t get with the SpaceWalker.
With the SpaceWalker, you can’t detach the treadmill from the desk.
