Note: Overall, I like this heavy-duty treadmill. Sunny Health & Fitness is a good brand, and they offer this machine at a budget-friendly price. The Asuna foldable model easy to set up and use, has decent performance as well as some premium features you don’t usually see in standard treadmills.
My Review of the Sunny Health & Fitness Slim Folding Treadmill:
Unlike most foldable flat treadmills, the Asuna is more versatile because you can use it for both walking and running. You can adjust the speed from .6 to 8.0 miles per hour, and it has a more powerful motor to handle the load.
The walking platform also has shock absorption built-in. Therefore, you can walk or run for longer periods without putting extra strain on your joints.
Furthermore, the upright arms contain some attractive high tech features worth looking at. For instance, it comes with built-in speakers, a media port and a tablet holder. Therefore, you can easily connect (and charge) your electronic devices to make your workout more enjoyable.
Can You Use the Asuna as an Under-Desk Treadmill?
Although the Asuna provides a convenient, compact solution for home workouts, it’s not the best option for an under-desk treadmill. That’s because you can’t operate the device with the arms folded down, and you can see the digital display when underneath a desktop.
That said, I’ve found a way around this design obstacle. So you can use the Sunny Health and Fitness Treadmill as a walking workstation if you want.
First, you want to get an adjustable-height standing desk that is wide enough to fit the treadmill. The adjustable height also enables the desk to fit over the treadmill arms and display monitor.
Second, you need to be able to raise and lower the desk with the push of a button. This makes it much easier to access the digital monitor to turn the treadmill on and off. This electric standing desk has both of these functions.
Of course, you can’t watch the LCD display while you’re working to track your steps or calories burned. However, you can see all of your stats when you’re done working and elevate the desk.
Note: As I mentioned above, this electric treadmill may not be your best option if you want to use it as a daily workstation. The UREVO foldable treadmill may work better because it comes with a handheld remote control.
The Asuna, on the other hand, offers a good solution for daily workouts and an occasional treadmill desk. The digital monitor tracks your distance, time, speed, calories and steps.
Folding Treadmill Arms Make Storage Quick & Easy:
This treadmill folds flat, which makes it easy to store in a closet, under a bed or up against a wall. This feature also makes it easy to lift and clean underneath if you ever need to.
Speaking of cleaning, a treadmill mat can protect the walking belt and keep it cleaner. If you use your equipment on carpet, a mat can minimize the amount of dust that gets into the belt. Thus, your treadmill will run more smoothly with less maintenance.
